Reviews
We enjoyed our meal overall.
The beef tripe and chicken feet we had were not too bad, and the beef stir fry noodle was good too. Pork rib was made of meat chunks instead of ribs.
First time trying yumcha in Adelaide, based on highest reviews on Google. Must say i was quite disappointed with the food. They quickly sat us down and were quick to give us tea and quick to collect our plates once we finished our food. (Which is standard at any yumcha place)
The prawn dumpling 蝦餃 had thick and soggy skin that stuck to the metal, the prawn filling was nice but I believe how you know if the dumpling is good or not is based on how the skin turns out, not just the filling. This was unfortunately the same for the 韭菜餃 prawn and chive dumpling and shiu mai 燒賣.
The only thing we liked was the chinese doughnut rice roll 炸兩 at least it was crispy when it was served. We tried the glutinous chicken too but the rice was super dry and strangely it was served inside a bun…
Moving onto the super salty minced garlic that they put on top of the chicken feet 鳳爪 unfortunately did not help with the rating, definitely would not recommend for yumcha at all, there are nicer yumcha places i’m sure.
Radish cake 蘿蔔糕 was crispy though, and custard lava cake 流沙包 was good but served cold as we were about to finish we heard the table behind us also complaining amongst themselves based on the taste of the food being “eww”
While visiting Adelaide on holiday, I was recommended this restaurant by my nail lady. And I'm so glad we stopped by! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were served by a wonderful young man, David I believe his name was, who encouraged my partner to use chopsticks and gave us great recommendations on what to try from the menu. Overall, excellent experience and would definitely love to come back.
Nice push cart and trolley style timsum. Comes up to about AUD 25 per person for lunch here. Nice Beancurd roll and good Char Siew Bao too.
Booked a spot here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Very expensive but nice food. Nice taste, nice presentation. Also a bit slow between dishes delivery, not too long, still bearable. Bonus point for letting us to temporarily put our cake in their kitchen while we are having meal.
Been meaning to come here since they moved to their new location on Wright street, and thankfully the quality of the food has remained!
We came with a group of 9 people on a weekday night and it was not too busy, which meant food came out quick and service was efficient.
The food was delicious, fresh and good quality. Each of the dishes’ flavour profile was well pronounced.
Highlights were the deep fried fish with corn sauce, the stir fried beans, and oyster omelette. One critique I have is that the crispy skin chicken was more on the dry side.
Will come back for dinner to try other dishes and I want to come during lunch too for the yum cha.
Went for a yum cha experience. Not very clean with the mat under the table having holes in it, crumbs on the seats and it felt quite squishy. The food didn’t taste the best, most of it is quite salty. Very expensive as well. The egg tart was 10/10 though.
Steamed scollop are as small as finger nails, told old lady never ever seen restaurant sells such small scollop. She just rudely said just as it is in this season. And also Dongjing tofu tastes not fresh. Don’t go there if you want to eat quality food.
